The City of Sacramento, Department of Utilities is soliciting proposals to: The City of Sacramento, Department of Utilities (DOU) operates two (2) water treatment plants: Sacramento River Water Treatment Plant (SRWTP) and the E.A. Fairbairn Water Treatment Plant (FWTP). In addition to the treatment plants, the City owns and operates a series of concrete reservoirs and basins within the drinking water system as wells as the storm, sewer, and combined sewer systems. All of these assets hold water and typically contain rebar forms or pre-stressed steel that maintain the structural integrity. Concrete lime leaching, cracking, spauling, and settlement is typical over time but requires on-going maintenance to protect the useful life of the asset. In some cases, delayed response result in total shutdown of the facility. Failure or shutdown of these assets can be critical impacts to the ability to maintain levels of service. DOU is seeking firms specializing in various levels of assessment and repair of structural damage on water storage facilities. Work will be authorized on a task by task basis. Most efforts will include the need to complete assessment and repairs within strict schedules and regulatory compliance. In some cases, repairs may require expedited repairs due to an emergency need.
