The project includes the replacement of surveillance stations, 15 ramp meter systems, the installation of one active wrong way detection system and the replacement of six (6) sign structures and associated foundations. Wireless vehicle detection will replace inductive loops. Surveillance equipment will be installed in a new cabinet or incorporated into a modified existing ITS cabinet. Ramp meter systems include the controller, signal heads, warning signs and supporting infrastructure. The infrastructure installed under this contract will be connected to the fiber optic cable backbone installed under contract 62D79. The wrong way detection system will connect to the vendor via a cellular modem. The work also consists of excavation, site restoration, maintenance of traffic, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans and as described herein. The Contractor will be responsible to coordinate integration efforts of all installed equipment. Project labor agreement. DBE goal 14%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
