The work to be done under this Contract consists of designing, furnishing, and installing bridge shielding, shoring, and cribbing on both an emergency and a scheduled basis on bridges under the control of District 4 at various locations, as directed by the Engineer. The locations are unknown during bid process. The Contractor will be notified by work order per each location. The work will include, but is not limited to: 1. Installing deck shielding. 2. Installing shoring towers, cribbing assemblies, and web reinforcement (blocking). Web reinforcement (blocking) will be paid by Base Labor and Non-Bid Items. 3. Installing temporary traffic control devices to shift live traffic off of deteriorated structural members and protect installed temporary infrastructure. 4. Remove and-or secure deteriorated bridge components. The work to be performed shall consist of furnishing all material, equipment, labor, and traffic control required to perform the necessary repair work. All materials and equipment shall be approved by the Engineer prior to work commencing. Installation of materials including shielding are intended to remain beyond the duration of the contract. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
