The Project consists of roadway widening, full depth reconstruction, and repaving of Route 3A throughout the Project corridor, as well as intersection improvements at Beechwood Street and Henry Turner Bailey Road. The roadway will have an 11-foot-wide travel lane in each direction, and a 14-footwide two-way center left-turn lane transitioning to 12-foot-wide left-turn lanes at intersections and commercial driveways. A five-foot-wide bike path separated by two-foot-wide buffers, and a 5.5-footwide sidewalk will be installed in each direction. To accommodate roadway widening, the 18-inch RCP at Station 129+39 will be extended northeast and the 18-inch RCP at Station 133+03 will be replaced and extended at both ends. New headwalls and stone splash pad scour protection will be constructed at each new pipe end.
