Trades: Demolition Contractor, Building Moving, Wrecking: General Engineering Contractor or General Building Contractor

Demolition of one residential structure (including below-grade walls and foundations), one accessory structure (including below-grade walls and foundations) and backfill placement and compaction of all below-grade spaces to existing ground surface. Trees, bushes, and miscellaneous interior and exterior debris on property can be removed. Install temporary fencing behind the Glenwood Avenue right-of-way, along both property lines where fencing is not already present, and at fence gaps when accessory structure is no longer present. Wood fences along property lines shall be protected. The stone wall underneath back (west) property line shall be protected. Existing 42-inch stormwater pipe and associated junction boxes and yard inlets shall be protected. Underground nonstormwater utilities to be located, removed, and capped up to the right-of-way. Driveway to be used by contractor for loading & unloading equipment and material. No traffic impacts on Glenwood Avenue will be allowed for this project. Any flagging is incidental to this work. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all applicable permits for this project. Site is in the Bloomsbury Historic District of Raleigh. Tree on property line with 1907 Glenwood Avenue shall be protected. It is unknown if there is an existing underground storage tank at the property. The adjacent property (2208 Creston Road) had an underground fuel storage tank that was removed as described in the attached documents. Contractor shall accordingly excavate with caution. Care shall be taken to prevent damage to surrounding neighborhood properties. All materials generated from demolition to be properly disposed of offsite. Tthe City’s goal is to contract or sub-contract 15% of the contract amount to certified MWBEs on construction projects over $300,000, or with contracts that include $100,000 or more in state funding. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
