To establish a Contract for the annual supply of Chilled Water System Chemicals in support of the operation and maintenance of the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (Airport). The Airport Energy Plaza utilizes a chemical mixture of Sodium Nitrite (NaNO2) and Sodium Nitrite (NaNO3) in its chilled water system. These two chemicals combine to provide proper thermal stratification in the TES (Thermal Energy Storage) tank. Failure to operate at the proper chemical concentration could result in increased energy consumption and biofouling of critical system components. Additionally, the Sodium Nitrite Technical Solution contains Tolytriazole as a yellow metal detector. The combination of these chemicals is based upon the SoCool® product and has been used since the initial fill of the TES in 2005.
