The intent and purpose of this Request for Proposal (“RFP”), and the resulting contract, is to obtain services from a qualified firm to provide Architectural & Engineering Services Recreation & Parks Sports & Facilities Improvement Projects in accordance with the Scope of Services section of the solicitation. The projects intended to be covered by this contract will be to complete the two remaining 2022 bond projects and other anticipated smaller design projects not otherwise addressed by separate Request for Proposals for Professional Services. One of the two remaining bond projects is the proposed 2022 Bond Referendum Deep Bottom Park, which would involve the following: 1. Provide a new restroom and abandon the existing restroom building. 2. Renovate the existing parking lot, and make needed repairs to the park access road, park access and vehicle circulation. 3. Replace the existing DGIF boat ramp and provide shoreline restoration. 4. Provide civil engineering improvements to create an elevated/ADA trail system. 5. Provide other architectural and engineering services such as picnic shelters, shade, facility improvements, new park features, and landscape architectural elements. 6. Other facility rehabilitation improvements such as site electrical and water/sewer improvements. 7. Provide planning and civil engineering services to comply with the Henrico County Plan of Development (POD) process. The other anticipated smaller design projects would be new projects such as a new restroom building to be located at the Dorey Park Sprayground or a continuing effort to convert sports playing fields from natural grass to synthetic turf such as the ongoing project to convert the grass practice field at Douglas Freeman High School to synthetic turf, to include LED sports lighting.
