The Virginia Department of Forestry is looking for a contractor who has working experience and knowledge in planting bare root Loblolly Pine seedlings on State-Owned Lands. Planting spacing shall be on average ten (10) feet by nine feet (9) or approximately 484 trees per acre. Trees planted must meet the Department’s Planting Quality Specifications (included) with final payment determined by the average number of seedlings planted correctly. Work description: The work consists of hand planting 1-0 bare root Loblolly Pine seedlings furnished by the Department. The area to be planted is approximately 86.5 acres on the Department of Corrections located in Sussex County. The planting area has been chemically site prepared in the summer of 2024. Bidders must have prior experience successfully fulfilling tree planting projects of this type.
