The West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways (DOH) invites bids for the WV 869 / WV 817 Connector Road & I/S Improvements in Putnam County. Work will consist of constructing a small connector road between old US 35 (WV 817) and the US 35 connector road (WV 869). Each end of this short connector road would create a T-intersection with both WV 869 and WV 817. Part of the new connector would make use of part of the existing US 35 connector road and WV 817 would be rejoined to remove the existing curves created by the US 35 connector road. Reconfiguring these routes will better accommodate new traffic patterns following the completion of the US 35 four-lane west of this location. Approximately 1,650 feet of full-depth roadway construction and approximately 1,150 feet of mill and overlay will be necessary for the construction of these two intersections. All work will be within the existing right of way. There will be no tree removal or work below OHW. Traffic will be maintained on existing routes during construction. DBE goal 7%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
