237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The work consists of construction of a boat ramp, parking lot, dock and access road and incidental related work. The concrete boat ramp will be two lanes wide on the Savannah Back River. The boat ramp location is currently an armored shoreline. This work will require removal and replacement of stone shoreline protection along the Savannah Back River. The parking lot will consist of twenty (20) parking spaces for vehicles with trailers, twelve (12) standard parking spaces and handicap accessible parking. The loading dock will consist of concrete pier and piles with aluminum gangway and floating dock. Vibratory hammers are the preferred installation method for concrete pier and piles and must be used for pile installation. Vibratory hammers may be used year-round. The access road will tie in with adjacent City of Savannah roads and built to the State of Georgia Department of Transportation specifications. The access road is approximately 1,150 ft long and is a two,14-ft lane paved roadway with curb and gutter. Additionally, this project will include landscaping and signage.
