The City of Mt. Shasta is seeking a qualified candidate for the cleanout and hauling for disposal of the partially dried sludge that accumulated on the bottom of two obsolete treatment ponds. Standing water has been pumped from the ponds, and the outer edges have sufficiently dried. The centers of the ponds have retained some moisture. Air piping and diffuser tubes are present in both ponds and will be disposed of by city personnel after removal. All sludge removed will need to be hauled to a disposal facility. Pond 1 holds less than 120,000 ft³, and pond 2 holds less than 65,000 ft³ of sludge to be hauled. Over the next month, more water will evaporate thus reducing the weight per cubic foot.
