The Long Beach Utilities Department is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide work to be done hereunder consists of abandoning existing shallow well ground beds at the following locations: Gardenia Ave and Del Amo Blvd. And, constructing a new deep well groundbed at the following location: Gardenia Ave and Del Amo Blvd. Long Beach Utilities (LBU) intends to award cathodic protection groundbed construction and abandonment work in its entirety or, alternatively, in any combination of the above. The Contractor shall furnish the necessary labor, equipment, tools and materials to construct and abandon deep well cathodic protection ground beds at locations within the City of Long Beach, as listed above, including drilling all holes, installing anodes, cables and vent pipes, and providing sufficient cable lengths for LBU work. The Contractor shall procure all permits related to the well drilling operation and submit to LBU a copy of the Well Completion Report (CA DWR Form 188) for each well that is constructed and abandoned. Long Beach Utilities will perform the connection of anode cable and vent pipes from each hole to the rectifier and provide City of Long Beach excavation permits necessary to complete work at each site. Long Beach Utilities reserves the right to delete from this Specification, a portion or all, of the cathodic protection groundbed work at selected locations if funding becomes insufficient for the completion of the work.
