The West Hills Water Treatment Plant was originally constructed in 2017 and is owned by the San Benito County Water District. The plant has an existing design capacity of 4.5 MGD and will be expanded to 6.75 MGD with this project. The main components of the project include: • One new 2.25 MGD raw water pump added to the existing raw water pump station • One new 3.0 MGD automatic strainer added upstream of Actiflo-Carb • One new 4.5 MGD ballasted clarification pretreatment based on Veolia’s Actiflo Carb treatment process • One new 2.25 MGD dual media gravity filter with plastic block underdrains • One 6650-gallon sodium hydroxide chemical storage tank • One new solids drying bed sized for the 2.25 MGD expansion Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
