These portables will be a phased construction schedule. B14-20 will be first. Then B8-13, then B1-B7. The sequencing and timing of the project will determine how B21 to B35 are completed. Refer to the construction schedule for timelines that must be met by each prime contractor or be subject to liquidated damages. Contractor shall account for any overtime or crew size increases to maintain the schedule. Contractor shall also assume they may be required to work on more than one phase at a time.1. Contractor shall coordinate with the District for start and stopping spot for concrete flatwork to maintain access to existing portables. Students will be occupying new and existing portables while construction is ongoing.2. Portables B30 to B35 are portables on existing foundations to remain. This scope of work shall provide the necessary demo of concrete at the front of the portables so that the portables can be removed. After installation of the portables, this package shall be responsible for pouring back the section of concrete in front of the portables including doweling into existing concrete. 3. Portable B21 to B27 are owned portables requiring new concrete foundations. Those portables have 8” channels and the top of foundation shall be 9-1/8” below finish floor. Due to varying finish floors, there will be notches in the foundations. Coordinate with the District and IOR on how to properly perform this work.4. Portables B1 to B20 are leased portables and the foundations shall be setup for 10” channel. Thus, the top of concrete shall be 11-1/8” below finish floor. The portables that will be set may not be 10” channels, so this bid package shall account for the additional costs to provide and install shims as per details 11 and 12 on sheet A10.02. Coordinate with the district on shim height prior to affecting any work. 5. The restroom portable is onsite and will be removed and relocated to a new concrete foundation. Coordinate with the District and IOR to ensure a flush transition at all doors. 6. Installation of portable provided steel embeds for portable connection. 7. Provide and install all concrete and rebar. 8. Expansion joints including up against portables. 9. Flashing against portables.10. Gopher Slurry.11. Upon completion of the foundations for a phase, contractor shall utilize existing soil piles for backfilling of areas around building for flatwork. For spoils required to backfill against foundations upon completion, coordinate the proper amount with the grading contractor. The concrete contractor shall be responsible for backfill against new concrete foundations. 12. Coordinate with the grading contractor for rough grade/pad elevations. Export of spoils from footings shall be the responsibility of this contractor.13. Provide and install new flatwork as per the contract documents complete including dowels, rebar joint work and sealants. Contractor shall walk site to understand what concrete is existing and what is new. A recent outdoor learning project was completed at the south end of this portable area. 14. Provide and install new curbs and ramps. Contractor shall walk site to understand what concrete is existing and what is new. A recent outdoor learning project was completed at the south end of this portable area. 15. Provide and install new cast in place concrete seating including concrete, rebar, waterproofing, and backfill of planter area. 16. Provide and install new handrails and guardrails in new concrete as per the contract documents. 17. Contractor shall assume electrical contractor will be running conduits on backside of new portables while rebar and formwork is being performed. Pre-qualification required. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
