Board-up and maintenance services are needed by the City for privately and City owned structures caused by fire, vehicle accident, vandalism, trespassing and related activities, natural disaster, and/or other causes. Typically, board-up calls are generated by the City Police Department, Code Compliance Department, and the Building Department when private property is an issue, and City’s attempts to immediately reach private owners of record have been unsuccessful. Board-ups will require closing openings in exterior walls and on roofs. Exterior doors may need to be secured or boarded over. Temporary fencing may be needed, as determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the incident causing the need for the board-up in the first instance. Prevailing wages.
