The City of Redlands owns and operates a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) with a rated treatment capacity of 9.5 million gallons per day (MGD) annual average dry weather flow. Approximately 6.0 MGD of that capacity is dedicated to tertiary treatment, and the remaining 3.5 MGD is processed through secondary treatment. The WWTP also has a solids treatment system that consists of thickening, digestion, and dewatering. As part of the WWTP’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), areas of the WWTP are exposed to precipitation, where stormwater runoff potentially comes in contact with industrial activities subject to the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) General Permit for Storm Water Discharge Associated with Industrial Activity (General Permit).
