The work to be performed under this Contract generally consists of the installation of an air gap facility on each of the four reservoirs existing overflow pipe. Reservoirs R-10 and R-11 each have an external 8-inch or 10-inch diameter steel overflow pipe which will require the removal of a section of the existing overflow pipe and fittings, the re-installation of the existing elbows in a higher configuration that will provide the required air gap above the proposed 24-inch square precast concrete catch basin with grating constructed on the lower end of the existing steel overflow discharge pipe as shown on sheets 2 and 3 of the project drawings. Reservoir R-12A has a 24-inch diameter internal overflow pipe which connects directly to a 60 inch storm drain in 15th Street. A 24-inch gooseneck assembly exists between the reservoir and storm which will be modified to create the required air gap facility with the construction of a 48 inch square precast concrete catch basin. The details of this site are shown on sheet 5 of the project drawings. Reservoir R-13A has a 24-inch diameter internal overflow pipe which connects to a 24-inch diameter CMP storm drain pipe that discharges on the west side of the reservoir site. A 24-inch diameter gooseneck assembly and associated 48-inch square precast concrete catch basin is to be constructed at this site as shown on sheet 4 of the project drawings. The Contractor shall provide all necessary materials to provide a completed air-gap at each facility. Clean up and debris removal shall be the responsibility of the contractor. The work also includes removal and disposal of existing improvements, grass, shrubs, etc. which interferes with the proposed construction; traffic control; and all appurtenant work necessary for the proper construction of the contemplated improvements in accordance with the Specifications entitled Project No. 92105, 92106 & 92107: Reservoir R-10, R-11, R-12A & R-13A Overflow Air Gap Installation Project. The location of the work is in the City of Upland, San Bernardino County, California. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
