The Scope of Services defines the extent of design-consultant services to complete the work and documents specified herein for Design (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates), assistance during the bidding and award stage, Construction Support, and As-Built generation of La Jolla Improv 4, herein referred to as Project. The City of San Diego has established this Project for the replacement of aging water and sewer pipelines within Council District 1 within the La Jolla community. The design consultant will be required to provide services for the following improvements: Water Improvements: Construction of approximately 11,008 LF (2.08 mi) of water mains to replace existing 4-, 6-, 8- 10- and 12-inch AC water mains via open trench, including associated appurtenances. Abandon approximately 611 LF (0.12 mi) of water mains in existing easements. Replace one pressure regulating station with an 8-inch regulating valve. Install approximately 600 LF (0.11 mi) of new water mains on private street with existing easement and transfer existing water services to the new main. Sewer Improvements: Construction of approximately 2,921 LF (0.55 mi) of sewer mains to replace existing 6- and 8-inch VC sewer mains. Rehabilitation of approximately 1,682 LF (0.32 mi) of 8-inch sewer mains. Abandon approximately 1,064 LF (0.20 mi) of 6- and 8-inch sewer mains. Transfer one sewer lateral from abandoned main to the parallel sewer main. Install approximately 675 LF (0.13 mi) of new 8-inch sewer mains. Resurface Improvements: Resurface approximately 3,653 LF (0.69 mi) of streets with AC Overlay. Curb ramps are anticipated at Caminito Avola and Caminito Rialto (private streets). Installation and Restriping bike facility lanes. Environmental Services: AMND for archeological monitoring could be required. Biologist to investigate MHPA areas. Geotechnical evaluation may be needed. Geological hazards landslide categories present: 21 Confirmed, known, or highly suspected and 22 Possible or conjectured. Potential historic district. MHPA in the area - some areas include vegetation but no swimming pools are anticipated, in particular at 7863 E Roseland Dr. There is likely existing coastal sage scrub. No wetlands anticipated and no Coastal Development Permits are anticipated.
