The City of Santa Barbara is inviting proposals from qualified firms to provide professional planning services for the Public Works, Water Resources Division’s Vic Trace Reservoir Replacement Project. The intention of these services is to augment City Community Development Department, Planning Division staff to facilitate and coordinate the Project's planning application through the Community Development planning process in a timely manner. The selected Case Planner will work directly with the Public Works Project Manager and Community Development Senior Planner to conduct the work and have the ability to do the following: Read and understand site plans, architectural renderings, project proposals, and municipal ordinance and guidelines, Research and prepare reports regarding planning and community development issues and policies, Prepare and review technical planning proposals and environmental documents consistent with the General Plan, Local Coastal Program, ordinances, and department policies, Independently and effectively present City policy and guidelines and represent the Planning Division in a variety of public forums (e.g. ABR, PC, and City Council), Work directly with policy and decision makers, and Explain planning requirements and respond to questions and complaints regarding planning recommendations.
