The new Michael Towbes Library Plaza is an urban green space at the heart of Santa Barbara’s historic arts district and is an extension of the Santa Barbara Public Library. It encompasses 3 plazas located around the Library that add up to about 37,200 square feet (about 22,100 sq. ft. of “hardscape” – i.e. bricks, cement, etc.; and about 15,100 of “softscape” – i.e. plants, soil coverage/mulch, etc.) – refer to Attachment A- Michael Towbes Library Plaza Photos.
