The Vendor providing these services shall fully comply with the most current laws and regulations as set forth by Federal, State and local agencies which pertain to the packaging, handling, transportation, storage and disposal of these batteries. The batteries are located at the City of Redding’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 2255 Abernathy Lane, Redding, California. The facility’s hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding City Holidays. The Vendor shall provide approved storage bin(s) with lids, equipment, material and labor to load the batteries, including, but not limited to, all necessary handling apparatus and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for Vendor’s employees. The Vendor shall make certain that the batteries are loaded so as to prevent damage, leakage of lead or acid, or short circuits, and shall comply with all State of California, Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for hazardous materials. Other City departments may request battery pickup services on an “as-needed” basis. These pickups will be rare in occurrence, but pickups from other locations within the City of Redding may be requested from time to time. Vendor shall be willing to coordinate with other departments when needed
