This request for a competitive Invitation for Bid between a qualified contractor and Denver International Airport (DEN). This project has been identified by the Airfield Improvements Task Force Team as being necessary for decreasing aircraft taxi delay times and improving the efficient movement of aircraft on the airfield. The current taxiway system north of Concourse C East only provides a single taxiway access to the north ramp area via Taxiway CN. This causes aircraft taxiing conflicts between East and West taxiing traffic and does not allow aircraft to bypass other aircraft, thereby delaying taxi travel times on Taxiway CN. The DS East and DS West pads have both been reconfigured to accommodate deicing operations during the winter season. Aircraft traffic by United deicing on the DS East Pad and Southwest deicing on the DS West Pad has added to the complexity of utilizing a single taxiway for east/west movement. This project will create a dual taxiway entrance/exit on the northwest side of Concourse C. This procurement provides for a construction contract that will provide for the actual build-out of the project. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
