The City of Woodland Park has an existing Gold Hill Tank with a volume of 650,000 gallons that is 32 ft tall. The Gold Hill Tank and associated pressure zone within the distribution system are served by the Gold Hill Pump Station which is equipped with two constant speed pumps. The service area of the pressure zone served by this tank includes homes along with key community facilities including the hospital, college and lumber yard. The existing Gold Hill Tank is welded steel and a tank inspection completed on June 9, 2022 indicates that the interior of the tank has extensive corrosion and corrosion failure with bare steel exposed and pitting. To allow the tank to continue providing reliable service, the interior of the tank needs to be sand blasted and recoated soon which is estimated to take 3 to 4 months. During the time that the tank is being refurbished, a second tank will be required to provide fire flow and operational storage for the distribution system. This scope assumes the tank will be a bolted steel tank with glass or epoxy coating and will be located on the same site as the existing tank. Bonds required.
