Xcel Energy will be undergrounding their overhead electric utility in the alley between West Parish Avenue and South Rutherford Street from Charlotte Street south toward State Highway 60. Work to be performed under this contract includes installing the business underground supply from the proposed Xcel transformers/pedestals to the meters at each business location. Once Xcel energizes their new underground primary, the contractor will then switch the supply to the newly installed meter from the existing meter and wreck out the old business meter. Project construction includes but is not limited to: Removal of asphalt & concrete pavement, Erosion Control, Aggregate Base Course, HMA Patching, Underground Conduit Installation (Complete in Place), Wall Mount Conduit Installation (Complete in Place), Installation of conduit and wiring from business main disconnects to Xcel Energy equipment supply, Installation of surface conduit, boxes, gutters, panels, wire, main disconnects, Xcel Meter housing, and all other necessary items to reconnect service to new Xcel Energy Meter and supply equipment, Removal of existing electrical equipment for both residental and commercial locations upon new service connection, Traffic Control, Coordination with private property owners for access and service interuptions, Coordination with Xcel Energy, NEC and XCel required grounding and bonding as required Bonds required.
