The project details include an extensive HVAC upgrade to the existing Somers Elementary School (100,885 SF). HVAC upgrades include replacement/addition of RTU’s, ductwork distribution, as well as VRF indoor and outdoor unit installation. Structural support will be provided under the new roof top units. New lighting and new architectural ceilings will be provided throughout the space along with new power distribution. This is phased project consisting of mostly day shift work with the one off RTU picks happening at night. This is an occupied campus. The work has been divided into the following bid packages: BP05A – Structural Steel & Miscellaneous Metals (Set Aside); BP07A – Roofing; BP09A – Drywall and Ceilings (DAS Prequalification Classification - Drywall & Accoustical); BP21A - Fire Protection (Set Aside); BP23A - HVAC (DAS Prequalification Classification - HVAC; BP26A - Electrical (DAS Prequalification Classification - Electrical). This project is being performed under the Construction Management at Risk (CMR) form of construction. With respect to this project, the Construction Manager is the representative of the Owner. Each Trade Contractor's contract shall be with the Construction Manager. The Owner has contracted with Gilbane Building Company to serve as the CMR. This contract is subject to state set-aside and contract compliance requirements. SBE Goal: 25% MBE Goal: 6.25% Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
