The Town proposes roadway and culvert improvements consisting of four drainage crossing upgrades, the reconstruction of 2,273 linear feet of roadway, and the replacement of culverts with bridge structures in the Johnson Slough area. The Johnson Slough improvements will elevate roads to a minimum elevation of 5 feet North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) out of the floodplain and will ensure that emergency vehicles are able to access residents. The Town received a grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to fund a portion of the Project to improve resiliency and increase the capacity of Carnes Street, Nelson Drive South, Nelson Drive, and Plainfield Avenue. The basic construction cost for the project exceeds the threshold amount provided under Section 287.017, FS, for CATEGORY FIVE pursuant to the CCNA.
