The objective of this project is to construct a new signalized intersection on Oil Well Road at Big Corkscrew Drive, just east of Palmetto Ridge High School, enhancing traffic flow and safety for visitors to the Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park and commercial developments. This project involves comprehensive civil engineering work including road widening, the addition of turn lanes, and the installation of a traffic signal system. The scope also covers ancillary improvements to storm drainage, potable water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, street lighting and landscaping. Coordination with ongoing construction activities on Big Corkscrew Drive (Phase 2A) is essential to ensure a seamless integration of new infrastructure. The adjacent commercial developer, through an agreement with Collier County, is responsible for reimbursing the County for a portion of the cost of the project, specifically the public utilities and the intersection. Bonds required.
