The District currently owns approximately sixty-two (62) miles of fiber spread throughout Escambia County, FL. Thirty-six (36) miles of fiber are aerial and the other twenty-six (26) miles are buried. A link to the District owned fiber map may be requested by interested bidders as referenced in Section VI, Letter A (Preparation Requirements). ECSD is requiring the Cable Locating vendor offer a monthly and yearly firm and fixed price for locating the MAN/WAN fiber optic network. We have historically averaged ten (10) locates per month. The following are the requirements for the cable locating services that ECSD is soliciting.
