The purpose of this ITN is to establish a contract for telecommunication services to all district locations and select charter schools. The office of Information Technology Services (ITS) provides voice and data services to all district locations and select charter schools. Data services are delivered using several types of fiber based Broadband Ethernet links in a hub and spoke fashion. Typical WAN links provide 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps capable circuits to remote locations and multiple 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps capable circuits to the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) data center (CORE). The district’s current Internet bandwidth is 100 Gbps. Voice services consist primarily of fiber-based PRI T1s, SIP trunks, and Plain Old Telephone Services (POTS) to physical PBX or VoIP systems at each location. Additionally, voice and data services are used to support communication for security alarms, elevator call boxes, fire alarms and energy management systems district-wide. Bonds required.
