The Jerry D. Mitchem WRF is a 1.0 million gallon per day (MGD) domestic wastewater treatment facility consisting of pretreatment (headworks), biological treatment, disinfection, and disposal. The headworks of the facility consist of screening and grit removal. Screening is necessary due to the amount of trash and inorganic material of incoming raw wastewater. This material must be removed prior to the biological process. This is accomplished by a 1.0-millimeter Rotary Fine bar-screen. The existing Rotary Fine barscreen is 15+ years in operation, worn out, and in need of replacement. We will be replacing the Rotary Fine bar screen with a Hydro-static non-mechanical bar screen. Vendor will provide an applicable replacement based on specifications below.
