Pruning shall be performed to reduce the potential for insects and disease of trees by removing dead, dying, or broken limbs and by correcting poor growth habits. The work involves raising the clearance under trees to 10’ over walkways, 16’ over roadways, and 3’ from structures. Pruning shall also include the removal of basal sucker growth from the tree trunk and root crown to reduce the poor appearance of stressed trees. No more than 25% or the current ANSI A300 canopy reduction standards of a tree’s canopy/foliage shall be removed within an annual growing season. LBE Preference.
