The City of St. Petersburg is seeking bids for the repair and coating of a prestressed concrete 5MG storage tank at the Northwest Water Reclamation Facility. The scope of services includes comprehensive engineering design, mobilization, and the cleaning and recoating of various tank components. Specifically, the contractor will pressure wash and apply Tnemec coatings to the tank's exterior, fabricate and install safety features such as self-closing gates and new hatch covers, and replace hardware on the dome. Interior work involves removing delaminated shotcrete, resurfacing the concrete walls, and applying a polyurethane membrane. Additionally, the contractor will pressure wash and recoat interior pipes and repair up to 10% of the interior dome. To qualify, contractors must have a minimum of five years of experience in prestressed concrete tank repair, provide references, demonstrate financial stability, and possess necessary equipment. Responsibilities include providing a single point of contact, obtaining required permits, supplying all necessary materials and labor, and ensuring proper disposal of waste. Contractors must also develop plans to prevent stormwater contamination and ensure site safety, including compliance with confined space entry protocols. Prior to applying new coatings, contractors are required to perform adhesion tests and restore any site damage caused during the project. Bonds required.
