Howard County intends to procure the services of a Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials to construct improvements to the North Pump Station and the East Pump Station at Alpha Ridge Landfill. The North Pump Station receives leachate from the 68-acre unlined landfill cell, which was capped in about 2000. The leachate from the North Pump Station is transmitted via a 4-inch force main to the East Pump Station where it combines with leachate from the 38-acre lined landfill cell which is currently active. Flow from the East Pump Station is pumped to the on-site truck fill building, where the leachate is pumped to the storage tank for pretreatment settlement prior to being sent via force main to the Little Patuxent Waste Reclamation Plant (LPWRP). Improvements include grading, structural, mechanical and electrical work detailed in the Alpha Ridge Landfill Leachate Pump Stations Improvements drawings and Technical Specifications prepared by RK&K dated January 2024 Bonds required.
