Massachusetts Dept of Transportation (MADOT or MassDOT) solicits bids for repairs to the Fender System on Braga Bridge over the Taunton River on I-195 in the Municipalities of Fall River and Somerset. The project is located between the Pier 16 of the Charles M. Braga Jr. Bridge and the eastern bank of the Taunton River. The work to be done under this contract shall consist of the replacement of the bridge fender system. The scope of work includes removal of the existing damaged timber fender system, installation of a precast-prestressed concrete pile fender system, installation of temporary navigational lights during demolition and construction, removal and storage of existing navigational lights, installation of new fender mounted navigational lights, installation of clearance gauge signs and clearance gauge sign lights, maintenance of construction safety controls, and other incidental Items required to complete the work as shown on the drawings, as listed in the proposal, and as required by the Engineer. The navigation channel shall remain open at all times. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Department in the BRIDGE-CONSTRUCTION category to bid. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
