The work consists of cleaning and removing of non-hazardous roadside litter and debris, mowing of roadside areas, vegetation removal/management and highway sweeping on Route 16 Mystic Valley Parkway/Revere Beach Parkway (Medford, Everett, Chelsea and Revere) between the Route 38 interchange in the City of Medford and Route 1A interchange in the City of Revere. Any hazardous items encountered shall be immediately brought to the attention of the Engineer. The work includes cutting grass and/or weeds by a string trimmer along/under guardrail, barriers and curbs and mowing areas by 6-foot mower, and by over-the-guardrail mower and other tools as specified. The locations on the highway will include, shoulder, median, and cobblestone areas, and areas of difficult terrain such as steep slopes and rocky areas. The work includes sweeping and cleaning roadways and state highways by removing and disposing of sand, leaves, weeds, brush, trees, refuse and other debris which has accumulated within the layout of Route 16 Mystic Valley Parkway/Revere Beach Parkway (Medford, Everett, Chelsea and Revere) between the Craddock Bridge in Medford and Route 1A in Revere, in full compliance with MassDEP Policy #BAW-18-001: Reuse & Disposal of Street Sweepings. Highway Sweepings materials obtained from highway cleaning shall become property of the Contractor and shall be disposed of by him outside State Highway Limits subject to the regulations and requirements of local authorities governing the disposal of such materials, at no additional compensation.
