The work under this contract consists of a bridge preservation at Bridge No. B-16-234 (BKV) and consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment required to perform the work described below, as well as all other related work incidental to a project of this nature. The contractor shall perform the work below as shown in the contract drawings including: 1. Selective clearing and thinning of vegetation. 2. Conduct survey of the existing roadway and provide reference elevations and profile for roadway slab reconstruction to the engineer prior to the start of demolition. 3. Remove pavement, existing metal bridge rail, fencing, concrete sidewalks, 6” concrete slab, and concrete parapet to the limits shown on the contract documents. 4. Replace pre-compressed joint seal at North Abutment as shown in the contract documents. 5. Construct new concrete sidewalks, 6” concrete slab, parapet cap, bridge rail with protective screen, new membrane waterproofing, and pavement. 6. Remove and reattach traffic sign. Remove and reset parking sign. 7. Perform superstructure and substructure concrete repairs as shown on the contract drawings. 8. Apply concrete protective coating to the exposed concrete faces. 9. Provide related traffic control as shown in the contract documents. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
