The work to be done under this Contract consists of designing, furnishing, and installing bridge shielding on both a scheduled and emergency basis on bridges under the control of District 6 at various locations, as required by the Engineer. The Contractor will be notified of the scheduled shielding by work order per each Location. The Work will include, but not be limited to, furnishing all materials, equipment, labor, and traffic control to perform the necessary work. The Engineer, prior to installation, shall approve the shielding plans as well as all materials and parts. Additional work shall include removing and resetting existing shielding, removal of debris from shielding, removal of existing form work, removal of abandoned utility conduits and removal of old sign brackets. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Department in the PAINTING – STRUCTURAL or BRIDGE - CONSTRUCTION category to bid. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
