The City of Albany, by and through its Department of General Services, hereby requests proposals from qualified proposers to provide processing services for single stream commingled recyclable materials. The City expects the selected proposer to facilitate the processing of a single stream commingled mix of recyclable material from residential consumers collected by the City’s Department of General Services. See attached for the list of materials with viable secondary markets that will be included in the commingle containers. Based on estimates and recycling tonnage from previous years, the selected proposer shall have the capacity to accept and process up to 4,500 tons per year. In 2023, the city collected approximately 3,915.23 tons of single stream recyclable material and are estimated to collect 3,850 in 2024.
