The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a contract for General Construction of Water Mains, Large Services & Appurtenances. The work to be done consists of furnishing, unloading, hauling and distributing twenty four (24) Inch, sixteen (16) inch, twelve (12) inch, ten (10) inch, eight (8) inch, six (6) inch, four (4) inch ductile iron, two (2) inch PE-4710 Blue Water Service Tubing , one (1) inch Type ‘K’ Copper Tubing, PVC pipe and specials, laying and testing the pipe and specials, making connections to existing pipe lines, setting valves, furnishing and installing any and all Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) equipment, excavating and backfilling trenches, disposing of surplus material from trenches, and returning surplus pipe and other materials furnished by the Authority to the yard of the Authority as directed. All pipe installation work shall be installed in accordance with AWWA C600 (latest edition) or AWWA C900 (latest edition). In addition, the Contractor shall furnish, twenty four (24) inch, sixteen (16) inch, twelve (12) inch, ten (10) inch, eight (8) inch, six (6) inch, and four (4) inch nominal inside diameter ductile iron, cement lined push on type joint (“Tyton", “Fastite" or equal”) Class 52 pipe unless otherwise specified, except that twenty four (24) inch and sixteen (16) inch pipe shall be ductile Iron Class 51, with interior and exterior seal coat. If required by the Authority, the contractor shall furnish twelve (12), ten (10), eight (8) inch, six (6) inch, and four (4) inch nominal inside diameter Class 150 PVC pressure pipe with couplings and rubber rings, together with all necessary mechanical joint or bell and spigot ductile-iron fittings. The contractor shall also furnish all required jointing materials including rodding and eyebolts/duc lugs. The Authority shall furnish to the contractor, at its Sunrise Highway in Oakdale, or its Huntington store yards all valves, tapping sleeves, hydrants and valves, and valve boxes. The contractor shall also furnish all two (2) inch PE-4710 Blue Water Service Tubing. All material furnished by the contractor shall be “Factory New” and if requested the contractor shall produce supporting documentation detailing the purchase and delivery details of any material furnished by the contractor.
