he following terms and conditions apply to boarding services and violation of ordinance for the city of Rocky Mount: 1. 7/16” OSB, cut to size to fit inside the opening, and attached to the existing door or window frame with minimum 2 ½” wood screws. OSB to be used only in cases where boarding is not painted. 2. 11/32” (3/8”) plywood, CAT, cut to size to fit inside the opening, and attached to the existing door or window frame with minimum 2 ½” wood screws. Use of this plywood is required for all painted openings. 3. Paint to be applied to smooth or sanded surface of the plywood. 4. The specified paint is Valspar StormCoat flat latex, color: Vessel Gray (4005-2A) or equivalent. 5. All commercial/non-residential openings will be boarded with painted plywood. 6. Residential openings will be specified as painted or un-painted by the inspector. 7. Unless otherwise directed by the City, using existing plywood or OSB from the property, previously used as a boarding material is not acceptable. New material must be cut and installed. 8. The entire opening must be covered and the plywood and/or OSB must be fit to the inside of the opening, not simply laid over the top of the opening. 9. Any opening larger than 4’x8’ and requiring additional framing will require a quote from the contractor prior to any work being performed.
