Friction measurements must use the Findlay Irvine GripTester device in general conformance with FAA AC No. 150/5320-12C, “Measurement and Maintenance of Skid-Resistant Airport Pavement Surfaces.” The GripTester has a self-contained system that wets the runway surface as friction is being measured. • Wet friction measurements will be conducted at 40 and 60 miles per hour within 10 and 20 feet right of the centerline in both directions. Measurement runs are length of the runway section minus sufficient length to accelerate and decelerate safely. • The Contractor must submit a report on the results of the testing. o The Contractor is to provide this formal report within 10 days after completion of all testing in electronic format, including electronic data files. • Testing dates are to be determined based on mutual availability and weather.
