Barbur Gibbs Pump Main serves the Marquam Hill and the Bertha service areas and is considered part of PWB backbone water system as it supplies critical hospital facilities. The pump main has a well-documented history of leaks and repairs and recent inspections confirmed extensive corrosion and degradation. This project will strengthen and increase the resilience of this critical section by replacing all the steel and cast-iron pipe sections of the pump main with seismically resilient piping.
