City of Bristol, Tennessee is seeking the services of a consulting team that includes qualified architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and/or similar, related expertise to lead the design and oversee project development of skate park to include site recommendations. The team should include construction-related subject matter expertise. The consulting team chosen is expected to lead the City in development of a new park. The selected consultant team will identify and assess possible site locations to include input from the community. All new features of the park are expected to be constructed with a poured-in-place shot-crete system - not modular, “stick-frame” construction. The study contemplated a park of up to 10,000-12,000 sf for total area of skating. Accessory functions, such as restrooms, spectator seating, and pump tracks are to be considered. If the design process proposes a phased approach to construction, modularly constructed components of the existing skatepark will be integrated into the skate space, primarily a new mini ramp that our local advocates have acquired. Other considerations shall include, but not be limited to, lighting, seating, water, public art, a wall for urban artist use, power, playground amenities or other features as recommended by the design team or through engagement with constituents or expected end-users The project should utilize skatepark expertise that includes an accurate and full understanding of annual maintenance costs which should be fully considered during the process of design and carried forward with the project when presented for approval.
