The project is to construct Chimney Rock Road from American Canal in south to McHard Road (FM2234) in north. The project includes the construction of a new four lanes roadway from South of American Canal to McHard Road; two bridges (northbound and southbound) over American Canal; underground storm drain system, a pump station for the existing detention pond and modification of the existing traffic signal at McHard Road. The R.O.W. (existing and proposed) width is 150’ for the entire length of the project. The project consists of constructing a new four lane roadway with median and underground drainage system from South of American Canal Drive to McHard Road. Roadway side open ditches/swales will be constructed along both sides for positive drainage. Two new bridges of two lanes shall be constructed over American Canal. MSE Retaining walls and Crushed concrete drive will be constructed upstream and downstream of the bridges. The underground storm drain system consists of 24-inch to 48-inch in diameter to collect and convey paved surface and median to proposed dual 10’X10’ RCB. The dual 10’X10’ RCB is proposed to construct to connect two existing detention ponds in the vicinity. The Lift/pump station and outfall channel will be constructed to convey water from the detention ponds to Clear Creek. The existing traffic signal at McHard Road shall be modified to accommodate the new roadway approaching from south. New pavement will consist of an 8-inch reinforced concrete over an 8-inch lime stabilized subgrade. Construction will include clearing and grubbing, site grading, drainage facilities, bridges, reinforced concrete pavement, pump station, traffic signs and pavement markings, ADA ramps, traffic signal modification, swppp, traffic control during construction. Following the construction of all facilities, final seeding and stabilization of disturbed areas will be completed. Approximately 30 acres of the project site will be disturbed during construction. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
