In general, this work consists of installing new 8-inch water line along the east side of Running Springs Drive from Brookforest Drive to Heatherdale Drive, and installing new 18-inch sanitary sewer trunklines along the west side of Running Springs Drive between Craighurst Drive to Larkfield Drive. Work items include: Installation of 6-inch and 8-inch PVC C-900 water line by trenchless construction where possible, open cut may be required, including bends, fittings, valve and boxes, and fire hydrant assemblies. Water line work also includes installation of 14-inch minimum steel casing by trenchless construction. Contractor shall submit trenchless construction method prior to construction. Disinfection and testing shall be completed by the Contractor. Abandonment of 6-inch and 8-inch water line including cutting, draining, plugging, and grouting existing water line. Existing fire hydrants that are removed are to be salvaged and returned to CLCWA. Reconnection of new 6-inch and 8-inch water line to the existing system by wet connection(s). Work also includes reconnection of new 8-inch water line to 12-inch existing line by tapping sleeve and valve. Line stop valves are to be used as directed by Engineer to minimize water service disruption in the event certain line segments prove difficult to isolate due to existing valve placement or existing valves being faulty. Installation of 8-inch and 18-inch sanitary sewer line by open-cut, and installation of pre-cast concrete sanitary sewer manholes. Removal and replacement of existing 8-inch sanitary sewer. Partial abandonment and raising of invert in existing sanitary sewer manholes and lining existing sanitary sewer manholes with cementitious material. Line existing and proposed sanitary sewer manhole with epoxy coating system. Chemical grout injection by curtain grouting and repairing existing sanitary sewer manholes with epoxy coating. Grouting and abandonment of existing 18-inch sanitary sewer. Abandonment of existing sanitary sewer manhole. Implementation of trench safety systems compliant with OSHA standards and recommendations noted in the geotechnical report in Appendix A. Removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk and driveways, per ADA standards, including ramps, and removal and replacement of concrete pavement. Implementation, maintenance, and removal of bypass pumping during construction of the new sanitary sewer. Implementation of dewatering systems for control of groundwater, using recommendations noted in the geotechnical report in Appendix A. Site restoration including removing and replacing damaged turf, trees, plants, and shrubs, reconnecting and replacing yard drains. Implementation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control plan and storm water pollution prevention plan. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
