Arlington County is accepting bids for the Cultural Affairs Building Boiler Replacement. The mechanical and electrical work required for the Boiler system upgrade generally consists of the following: 1. (2) existing gas fired boilers to be replaced with (3) new electric boilers. 2. Heating water distribution pumps and variable frequency drives (VFDs) will 3. also be replaced. 4. Existing gas meter to be shut off with the gas service to remain in place. 5. Gas line to be capped inside boiler room, with the meter left in place at the 6. perimeter of the building. 7. Existing boiler flue to be demolished and roof penetration infilled. 8. New boilers will have a master control system to control the operation of all three boilers together, and interface with the existing BAS. 9. The electrical service at the building will be upgraded to accommodate the increase in electrical capacity due to the electric boilers, addition of EV chargers and an assumption of 25% spare capacity for future equipment loads within the building. 10. Provide O&M and warranty documents and other project closeout documentation. Bonds required.
