The intent of this Invitation to Bid is to establish a one (1) year contract with the option to renew for four (4) successive one (1) year periods with a qualified contractor to provide asphalt and concrete services on an on-call as needed basis to the City of Hampton (HCS). Services shall include but are not limited to the repair, replacement, resurfacing, patching and other related tasks such as the removal and installation of curb and gutter, removal and installation of sidewalks, handicap ramps, roadway slabs and driveway aprons on HCS property. Asphalt work shall consist of the removal of existing asphalt, preparation of parking lots, and placement of hot mix asphalt overlay at various locations on HCS property. Associated work includes, but is not limited to, miscellaneous repairs and adjustment of utility fixtures, hauling and disposal of materials, asphalt patching, asphalt overlay, adjustment and/or installation of utility fixtures, restoration of shoulders and driveways and all clean up. Other associated services shall include concrete work within HCS buildings. Saw cutting and erosion control shall be incidental to all applicable items. The contractor will furnish all labor, equipment and materials to complete in place, all items under the contract. This includes placing all materials needed to secure the work area for safe passage of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to see that materials, tools and equipment are delivered within, or adjacent to, the work area specified by HCS. MBE goal 4.34%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
