The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish a contract with a qualified Contractor for the provision of all Work and Materials for the demolition and replacement of Pump Station 054. The work is located in the City of Newport News at 91 Linda Drive. Work includes, but is not limited to, 1. Demolition and Disposal: a. Except as noted below, demolish, remove, and legally dispose of all structures and infrastructure related to the existing pump station within the site, as shown on the drawings. Demolition shall generally include removal and disposal of the existing wet well, abandoned dry well, masonry building, concrete slabs and foundations, concrete roof, pumps, piping, existing electrical and controls panels, conduits, influent manhole, existing flow meter manhole, generator, concrete pad, piping, electric, automatic transfer switch, wet well fan, existing concrete roof deck, and other selective demolition items as indicated in the drawings. b. Items to be returned to City: Existing propane tank used as fuel source for generator. c. Items to be salvaged and reused: Existing RTU internal components. 2. Bypass Pumping: Bypass pumping operations will be established prior to the demolition of the existing pump station, and will continue through substantial completion. 3. Reconstruction: Construction of all site work including grading, permanent seeding, new sidewalk and new driveway. New pump station building will include new wet well, masonry pump station building with standing seam metal hip roof, new pumps and associated sewer force main piping, ultrasonic flow meter and level sensing and control devices, electrical conduits and cables, electrical and motor control panels, and all components required for a complete and operable facility. Site work shall also include installation of site piping, concrete foundation pad for the backup generator, and new decorative anti-climb fence. 4. Backup Power: Installation of one (1) natural gas-driven backup generator and automatic transfer switch. Bonds required.
