The Scott County Schools Maintenance Department is seeking bids for a General Contractor with a Class A CBC license to complete the demo and construction work needed for a new elevator shaft (for a Elvoron LULA Garaventa Lift) for Rye Cove High School. Other requirements required by the elevator contractor include; •A hoist beam is to be provided by others. •Furnish a dry reinforced pit with either a drain or sump pump. •Hoistway walls are to be designed and constructed in accordance with the required fire rating including where penetrated by machine room piping, elevator fixtures boxes, rail bracket fastenings, etc. The front wall is to be left out until after the entrances are installed. •Provide all cutting and patching of walls. •Provide a properly framed and enclosed legal hoistway, including venting as required by the governing code and authority, ready for uninterrupted use by United Elevator Services. •Provide for the guarding and protecting the hoistway during construction. The protection of the hoistway shall include solid panels surrounding each hoistway opening at each floor, a minimum of 4’-0” high. Hoistway guards are to be erected, maintained and removed by others. •Provide pit ladder, smoke sensors, phone lines, sprinklers etc... to meet Code requirements. •Provide elevator equipment room as required by the governing code and authority, ready for uninterrupted use by United Elevator Services, LLC. •Provide three-phase power to the elevator controller, a fused disconnect switch per the National Electrical Code along with a single phase disconnect for lights and signals. •[Optional] For elevators having a battery-powered Emergency Return unit, the disconnecting means required by the National Electric Code shall be provided with an auxiliary contact with wiring to the controller. •Placement of the elevator quoted to meet building and local codes as required by the governing code and authority having jurisdiction is the sole responsibility of others. •Provide current W-9 in bid package.
