Project consists of replacing underground water and sewer utilities. Scope includes, but is not limited to, removing the existing asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, turf sod, installing new domestic water and sanitary sewer piping, structures and utility vaults, and replacing all trench surfaces with new asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks and turf sod. Project will be completed in a single phase. All surfaces to accommodate the trenching of water and sewer utilities shall be removed, excavated, backfilled compacted, as needed, to repair and establish existing surface conditions. All existing surface and/or trenching materials that cannot be reused, will be properly disposed of offsite. Trenching will commence for new domestic water and sanitary sewer improvements as indicated on the drawings. Compact soil and install piping, structures and vaults as indicated on drawings. Soil sterilant shall be placed prior to placement of new asphalt paving and concrete sidewalk. After paving has been completed, site amenities shall be re-installed and pavement markings applied. Mandatory 15% apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of the construction contract. Voluntary numerical Diverse Business goals of 10% MBE, 6% WBE, 5% Washington Small Business, and 5% Veterans have been established for this project. Achievement of the goals is encouraged. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
